Saudi Arabian Airlines is the national airline and based in Jeddah. It was founded in 1945 when US president Roosevelt presented a Douglas DC-3 as a gift to Saudi Arabia. In 2012 the name was changed to Saudia with joining the Skyteam Alliance.
