Lufthansa is a german airline with its main bases in Frankfurt and Munich. It was founded originally in 1926 but had to cease operations in 1945 due to sanctions after the second world war.  In 1953 it was refounded and became the second largest european airline until today. Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Germanwings, Eurowings and Brussels Airlines are subsidiaries of Lufthansa.
